WHAT IS A WELLNESS PUPPY?
A Wellness Puppy is a carefully selected and matched companion puppy placed in a home to support everyday wellbeing through presence, routine, love, joy and connection. Wellness Puppies are generally small, low-shedding and easy to care for breeds chosen for their temperament, adaptability, and affinity for close human companionship. They are well socialized, raised with intention, and bred for calm engagement, emotional sensitivity, and life as a companion within the home.
These puppies are not task-trained service animals and are not intended to provide clinical or disability-related services. They are not used to obtain preferential treatment, special access, housing accommodations, or travel privileges. Their role is simple and powerful: to offer companionship, consistency, affection, and joy in daily life.
Wellness puppies are placed into homes and families where they can be fully integrated — where their presence is welcomed, their care is prioritized, and their capacity to bring comfort, laughter, and connection can truly flourish.

BEST SUITED FOR?
A wellness puppy may be a good fit for individuals who are functioning in daily life but carrying the long-term effects of occupational stress or trauma.
For our program an ideal candidate would include people who:

Have served as veterans, first responders, or frontline professionals

Are not in immediate crisis and have stable housing and daily routines

Feel the cumulative impact of stress, trauma, anxiety, or emotional fatigue

Are seeking steady companionship and routine as part of their overall wellbeing, alongside any professional or clinical supports they may already have in place.

A wellness puppy is not intended to replace professional mental health care or emergency support. It is designed to complement existing supports by offering presence, routine, and unconditional companionship in everyday life.
